Among the early wins of the present administration are improved
traffic condition and cleaner and orderly roads in the City. All
throughout the City, an increased number of traffic enforcers are
deployed especially along the stretch of Rizal and Magsaysay Streets
as well as in vital intersections of Salvador Escudero Highway such
as Pangpang, Cabid-an, and Sitio Baribag in Bibincahan. For the
motorists and the public, their presence connotes order, security
and safety. Constant monitoring to apprehend illegal public land
transport or colorum is also being done and streets are being
cleared of sidewalk vendors. These changes were driven by the firm
resolve of Mayor Ma. Ester E. Hamor to focus on traffic management
and to address the escalating traffic congestion not only to
minimize inconveniences to road users and the riding public, but
more so to avoid road accidents. Traffic management is part of the
10-point Agenda of the City under the Seguridad, Kaayusan,
Katranquilohan asin Kauswagan (SK3) Program. Other projects under
the SK3 are installation of traffic lights, implementation of new
traffic schemes and expansion of CCTV coverage within the City
proper.
